Health Benefits of Herbal Tea

You can make healing teas from everyday ailments with just a few herbs.

While there are many ways to appreciate the goodness of plants and their benefits, it is hard to beat a cup of good old-fashioned tea. It's especially enjoyable when the tea is made with herbs that I foraged or grew myself.

Tea has many health benefits that cannot be ignored. These are just a few of the many known health benefits.

Many herbal teas have been proven to be helpful in indigestion, nausea, constipation, and other issues. Most of these teas are easy to find and make. Ginger, angelica root and gentian root are some herbs that have been shown to be helpful.

Peppermint and Green Tea

  • 2 parts peppermint
  • 1 Part Green Tea

Combine the ingredients and place in a sealed container. Use 1 to 2 teaspoons per cup of hot water. You can serve it hot or cold.

  • 2 tablespoons dried lemon balm
  • 2 tablespoons dried rose hips, cut & sifted
  • 1 tablespoon dried chamomile
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried lavender

Combine the ingredients and place in a sealed jar or tin. Place 1 tablespoon of the tea mix in a tea bag or tea ball. Fill the tea bag or tea ball with 1 cup (8 fl. oz) of hot water. Let steep for between 8-10 minutes. Then, enjoy the tea! (Sweeten if desired! )
